before i was born, and my father was still in the navy, my parents and sister all lived in japan for two years. my mother returned home with an obsession for tacky japanese reproduction items....
it's funny, when i still lived at home, I really disliked the "oriental" decor of our house...now as I'm older, I find myself strangely drawn to things with an asian feel.
these are some vintage christmas bulbs she had...they no longer work, but I think they're charming in a bowl on the shelf...

Oh I love them - I'm sure they're great sitting in a bowl - and a bit different. What memories they must invoke.
I grew up with Chinese lanterns for Christmas lights. I loved them.
Hill, I think they're SO charming! The colors are bright, but somehow soft at the same time.
